Elaionas Nikou is located in Pyrgi, in the gulf of Gera, just 7 km from the city of Mytilini, with its port and the “Odysseas Elytis” airport. 

Daily air connections are available via Aegean Airlines and Sky Express with Athens and Thessaloniki, while regular direct flights are also available with Chios, Lemnos, Samos and Rhodes Islands.

There are also direct charter flights connecting Lesvos with various airports in Europe.

Ferry connections are available via Blue Star Ferries daily with Piraeus (Athens) and Chios, regularly and seasonally with Thessaloniki, Kavala, Lemnos and northern Aegean islands.

Regular ferry connections are available for Turkey: Ayvalic and Ismir

For transportation within the island, the use of a car is considered essential.

Elaionas Nikou is a certified organic farm producing high quality olive oil. Many of the olive trees are over 200 years old and are – themselves – artistic natural sculptures.

On the estate there are also almond trees, fig trees, apricot trees, quince trees and other fruit trees. Also wild herbs such as oregano, thyme, rosemary which give a special flavor to the olive oil.

The unique beauty of Elaionas Nikou has been praised by famous artists, such as the painter Giannis Tsarouhis, the Nobel Prize-winning writer Odysseas Elytis, the art critic and art collector Stratis Teriant Eleftheriadis; others have placed the beauty of the area on canvas, such as Manolis Kaligiannis,  Agatha Buntz and Orestis Kanellis.

Close to Elaionas Nikou (about 1km to the north) near the village of “Pyrgi” is the fine seaside traditional fish tavern “to Pyrgi”.

“Therma” Thermal Springs (about 5.5 km to the north) can be found on the central Mytilini – Kalloni road.

Skala Loutron (approx. 6.3 km south) right after the Diavolo-Akothee Wildlife Refuge cape, has a tavern and closely after that, at Kounturoudia, there is a small ferry with regular ferry services to Perama, on the opposite side of the bay of Gera.

The city of Mytilini is located 5.5 km to the east, while the airport is about 10 km from Elaionas Nikou, passing through Mytilini.
